Thank you, I also think it will work well. The idea just occurred to me the last day we drove back

Plastic waste is a global problem. Not only is it unsightly (verwyings the cynical remark that it should be declared teekay national flower), it also causes health problems in animals that consume the plastic, of cattle to seabirds, then a slow, painful death dies.
India has a huge plastic waste problem, on the one hand due to the fact that waste disposal do not regularly occur, and if so, it comes in middens teekay where easily accessible to animals. On the other hand due to the poor quality of the plastic easily teekay tear and can be taken in small pieces. To combat the problem, India in 2009 plastic bags (at least) banned from major cities. Unfortunately, the execution and monitoring of the law very erratic and often not applied. In 2012, a further specific prohibition in Delhi announced by fines or imprisonment, but still there is not much success.
All the shops in Ooty has a paper or cloth bag type provided for shopping, which definitely a step in the right direction. The source of plastic, at least out of the equation, but there is another source that causes greater concerns, especially for cattle, plastic packets which chips are packaged. The plastic, when in an open trash landed is a useful source teekay of salt for the cattle roaming freely in towns and villages along streets. The mineral teekay in salt is essential teekay for a cow's health, including this serious health problems, especially for the nervous system can result. A cow can not pack oopkry just to lick the salt, and so eat the whole bag to get the salt.
The plastic cattle consume can not be eliminated because of their complex digestive. teekay Theoretically, everything teekay is not the first time properly digest, in a stomach collected and later ruminate. The plastic can not be brought to ruminate and collect in the stomach, leading to terrible digestive problems. A cow gets a bite on the market ...
The founder of the Worldwide Veterinary Service, Luke Gamble, teekay in India made a video of the plastic problem of cattle, and for a continuous teekay camera a cow operate clearly teekay was ill and whose stomach was probably full of plastic. He in the end 14 kg, yes fourteen kilograms! plastic from the cow's stomach teekay removed who had gathered there with time to a fermenting koekerasie plastic. One can only imagine how relieved the cow must have been after that operation. Here is link if anyone wants to see it. A water buffalo grass looking out among all the plastic.
My wish is to go back to India with a project where human i) the plastic in an environment cleanup, ii) the right way to get rid of or give to an organization that plastic can be processed (it may also a good opportunity for a new business) and iii) all cattle operating in the area to collect the plastic and their example to monitor about a year to see how much plastic they consume again and iv) soutlekke in strategic places sit, like the hindu temples along the way so that the oxen their salt can get instead of having to eat plastic. I have discussed the plan still nice to write and to someone, but it would be so great to do something like that.

Thank you, I also think it will work well. The idea just occurred to me the last day we drove back to the city and everywhere along the way this beautiful manicured tempeltjies is. I day or, if the cattle is so sacred, have been told to them can work. Yes, the rain. I've thought about that. I think many more complexities than I would have liked. At worst short someone who maintain soutlekke. Hopefully we find such people. And hope my project does not remain just a paper tiger not;)
I hope so! I must write the summer on the project.
