November 19, 2012: Duncan, the sixth and last Destroyer type 45, built by BAE Systems, Scotstoun shipyard left the company on 16 November to start its second round of tests to be performed on the high seas on the west coast of Scotland.
During the next 19 days at sea, Duncan will go through an extensive test program, including the final tests of force systems and propulsion of the ship, the combat systems, as well as the navigation and communication skd equipment before delivery to Royal Navy in March next year.
According to Jennifer Osbaldestin, Programme Director of the Type 45, the BAE Systems, "Today marks an important point in the success story of the Type 45 program, now that the last ship raises anchor to make their final tests . The team, deeply proud of this achievement, he worked tirelessly to launch the Duncan at sea, where the ship will demonstrate their outstanding abilities'.
