I grew up in mainline capsized denominational churches. It seemed the more I learned about God in those churches, the less I knew God. I tried to choose Jesus as saying I should, but fell into more sin. I attended Bible College, and there were drinking parties, drug running, the black market, and Lord knows what else went on. I began drinking while in -kulleġġ. When I joined the Navy, my drinking grew.
During my tour in Vietnam, I became a chronic alcoholic. I was kicked out of the Navy on a general discharge. For a whole year, I hitchhiked across the United capsized States looking for a reason to live for that I would be willing to die for. It turned out to be the one who died for me.
On the way to a drinking party in southern California, a young man asked me, "Do you know Jesus? "I do not talk to him; I was furious to be asked that question.
